Overcoming
low self esteem is the single most important thing you can do for yourself. Life flows
from healthy self esteem. Life gets
interrupted when one has low self esteem.
1). Self esteem affirmations.
2). Vision board.
3). Exercise.
4).Change in diet.
5).Meditate.
6).Journal.
7).Take responsibility.
1). Self esteem affirmations.
A self esteem affirmation is a positive
statement in present tense guaranteed to change ones mindset from a negative
state to a positive state. It works at the subconscious level. For example when
self-examination uncovers negative thinking such as I am not good enough a self
esteem affirmation I am good enough would replace it. With patience and
perseverance, the new self esteem affirmation would replace the negative
thought. Circumstances would then change to reflect the new thinking pattern. See self esteem affirmations.
2). Vision Board
A vision board is simply ones positive vision in words and pictures on a poster board. Magazines and books are used to cut out pictures that mean something to the person making the vision board. A time period of 6 months, a year or even 5 years is written at the top of the poster board.
A vision board is used for inspiration and as a reminder of what
is important in life. See affirmation posters.
3). Exercise
Exercise is a powerful antidote to overcoming low self esteem. Just going for a walk in nature can lift ones mood and change negative thinking into positive thinking.
4). Change In Diet
A change in diet can do wonders for one’s self esteem. Simply cutting down on sugar, processed foods, caffeine and white flour and eating more fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds and beans, can do wonders for one’s energy level and overall mood.
5). Meditate
Meditation is a sure fire way to calm one’s mind and relax one’s body. Simple breathe in and out paying attention to the breathing. Let your thoughts just be don’t get caught up with them.
6). Journal
Journaling is another wonderful way to write out all ones negativity. Simply put pen to paper and just write. Don’t edit or judge yourself. Don’t worry about spelling and grammar. Just write. You will be amazed at how much better you feel about yourself when you have written all that negativity down on a piece of paper.
7). Take Responsibility
To
take responsibility is to take ownership of one’s behavior. When one doesn’t
take responsibility, personal power is given away and one feels like a victim.
When one feels like a victim one plays the blame game, blaming others for all
kinds of things. See self esteem exercises.
Overcoming
low self esteem is absolutely necessary to feel better about oneself and one’s
life.
